Dear Mr Shack,
The Rothschild Archive holds very few personal papers of Baron Edmond de Rothschild (1845-1934), and the little correspondence that we have mainly concerns his art collections and matters relating to his estates, properties and personal accounts. We have no papers relating to his business interests and we cannot say where he was in March 1878.
Business papers of the Paris House of de Rothschild Frères, under the care of the Trustees of The Rothschild Archive and originally available in the Archives Nationals in Paris, are currently located in the Centre des Archives du Monde du Travail at Roubaix, France. They are dominated by the business correspondence from agents and correspondents of the Paris house, but the bank's interests in rail and natural resources are reflected in the collection.

The identity of Josef Stalin's father has been a mystery for over 130 years. Could Stalin's biological father be found among Rothschild bankers?
